Have you ever seen the movie Holes? Ever wondered what it would be like if Richard Kelly had written the script? Well now is your chance to see (or at least read) what could have been. We are very fortunate to have gotten our hands on a copy of the actual "Holes" script Richard wrote. The 2003 film was based on Louis Sachar's book, and the studio ended up using an adaptation written by the author himself. Since Richard's take on the material will not be used, he was kind enough to give us permission to reproduce it here for his fans. Here's what he said when we asked him about the project:

 "I was hired by Phoenix Pictures in the summer of 1999 to adapt the children's book Holes by Louis Sachar. They wanted to take the book in a more adult direction. I took it too far and they were a little scared with what I wrote. I then told them that I was incapable of writing a Nickelodeon kid's film, and we parted ways. This was my first writing assignment... and some people told me that I would  never work again..."
